A price monitoring tool made for Shopify merchants

Monitor competitor prices on the products you sell, see where you stand, and turn changes into pricing decisions inside your Shopify admin.

What you get

  • Scheduled price checks on competitor product URLs, from weekly on Free up to every 4 hours on Scale.
  • Price extraction you confirm once. PriceSpidey reads the page and suggests the price. You confirm it, so later checks track the right number instead of a shipping fee or a placeholder.
  • A position view of your catalog. Filter for products where you are the most expensive, the cheapest, or in between, and sort by the size of the gap.
  • Email alerts when a check finds a price change.
  • Optional auto-repricing with a floor and a ceiling you set per product.

If you mostly watch non-price content, a general monitor may be enough. We wrote a fair comparison in Visualping alternative.

How to choose a price monitoring tool

  1. Test your hardest competitor first. Every tool works on easy pages. Try the store with the most complex product page before you commit.
  2. Count what you are billed for. Some tools price per product, some per competitor URL, some per check. Work out the cost for your real watchlist.
  3. Match the check frequency to your decisions. If you change prices weekly, hourly data is cost without benefit.
  4. Check where the data ends up. A tool that lives inside your store admin gets used. A separate dashboard often doesn't.

Frequently asked questions

What does a price monitoring tool do?
A price monitoring tool visits competitor product pages on a schedule, reads the current price and records changes over time. Good tools also alert you when something changes and connect the data to your own prices, so you can act on it.
What is the difference between price monitoring and price intelligence?
Price monitoring is collecting competitor prices. Price intelligence is what you do with them: seeing where you are positioned, spotting patterns and making pricing decisions. PriceSpidey covers both for Shopify stores, from the raw checks to a position view and rule-based repricing.
Can I use a general website change monitor instead?
You can, but a general page monitor tells you that something on a page changed. A price monitoring tool extracts the price itself, compares it to your product and knows what your current price is. That is the difference between an alert to investigate and a number you can act on.
Is there a free price monitoring tool for Shopify?
PriceSpidey has a free plan with up to 5 competitor URLs checked weekly. Paid plans start at $39 per 30 days for daily checks.
Does it work for MAP price monitoring?
PriceSpidey is built for retailers watching competitors, not for brands enforcing minimum advertised prices across many resellers. If you need MAP enforcement with reseller discovery, look at a dedicated MAP monitoring service.
